Access Management
Table of Contents
Access History
This section displays the Access History logs of your organisation. This data can be downloaded.
It also provides information on how the access points were accessed based on the symbol that appears in the left side of the entry (Bluetooth, Remote, Card, GPS (Geo), Fingerprint, etc.).
Admin can also filter the data based on Users, Access Points, Date, Reporting Manager, etc. by selecting the “Filter” on the top right corner. The filtered data can be downloaded by clicking on “Download”.
What are access points?
Access Point Management shows the list of access points(doors) in the organisation.
By clicking on the name of the access barrier, the barrier detail screen will display:
How to edit access points?
Allows the admin to edit the name and location of the barrier/access point.
How to modify permissions?
Allows the admin to update the permissions of the barrier i.e., assigning or unassigning the access point to the user.
The user can be dragged and dropped from “All Users” to “Assigned Users” to assign a new barrier to the user and vice versa to unassign a user.
How to mark a door as default?
Allows the admin to select it as default door such that whenever new user is added this door will be given access without any additional selection. This is useful in the cases of main doors or gates where everyone has to have access by default.
How to enable Multi-Factor Authentication?
By selecting this option on that particular door, mobile MFA can be enabled such that the user has to authenticate by using additional phone authentication methods like fingerprint scanner, FaceID or unlock pattern to open the door.
Note- when mobile MFA is enabled, Tap-to-access or NFC/Fingerprint wont work on the door device. Only click to access from Spintly app can be used.
What are Door Sensors and how to enable them?
Each access point can be installed with a door sensor to sense the door position and enable features like DOTL/Ajar detection. For this feature to work, a Spintly installation person has to install the door sensor.
To access the door sensor settings, from the Access Points tab select the door and then go into ‘Door Settings’.
Click on Enable Alarm and Notifications for listed events.
Door Open Too Long (DOTL)
When it’s enabled, the admin can set different types of door alarms and notifications if the door is kept ajar or open for too long.
- Alert Type
When DOTL event happens three types of alerts can be given. Door alarm where the door reader will make sound, App notifications and Email notifications can be sent to selected users.
The admin can enable or disable these options as required.
- DOTL Time
In the option the DOTL even time is to be set which will trigger the alarm or notification as per the settings. The time can be set minimum of 1min or max it can be set for 60min.
- Alarm Timeout
This option is applicable when DOTL alert type ‘alarm’ is enabled. Here timeout for this alarm can be set after which the alarm will stop automatically if no one attended.
- Restart alarm
Once the alarm stops sounding, it can restart again if the door is still open. This restart time can be set from this setting.
Door open notification
When this option is enabled, It will start sending door open/close even data. These logs can be viewed from the access history tab.
Also, for door open/close events app or email notifications can be enabled if required.
Fire integration & configuration
The fire integrations can be enabled to trigger events and open doors during the fire event.
Fire integration can be enabled by installing the Spintly MeshIO device to integrate with the fire alarm panel and its output module. This can be done by Spintly installation partner. Once the MeshIO is installed to integrate with the panel you will have the option to configure the fire integration.
How to enable fire Integration
Fire integration can be enabled by going into Access Management > Advanced Settings and selecting ‘Enable Fire alarm Integration’.
After enabling this option, it will show the list of available fire panels and the number of channels.
Fire panel channels or Zones
Each fire panel can have one or more channels which are usually defined as zones. The channels or zones are defined based on the sections floor or floors defined. Each of these channels will have a specific number of doors defined, these doors can be selected such that when a fire event happens in that particular zone, only those doors will be opened.
By clicking the ‘View Channels’ button in front of the fire panel can view the different channels and manage the doors assigned under it.
How to assign doors to the fire panel
To assign doors to the fire panel channels, click on ‘View Channels’.
In the ‘Assigned Doors’ column it will show the doors already assigned if any. To assign new doors, click on the drop down from the ‘Add Doors’ column and search-select the doors to be added and click the button.
